DC Studios has a John Constantine movie in the works

DC Studios has hired Francis Galluppi to write a John Constantine movie, Deadline reported on the evening of Wednesday, November 4.
It's early. Deadline says the project is in very early development, there are no other attachments Deadline is aware of, and DC declined to comment. Galluppi directed Evil Dead Wrath, which Warner Bros. releases on April 7, 2028.
For collectors, the book to know is The Saga of the Swamp Thing #37 from 1985, where Constantine first appeared. Alan Moore created him with artists Steve Bissette and John Totleben. He went on to carry his own series, Hellblazer. The original run went 300 issues and ended in 2013, and the series has come back since, as The Hellblazer in 2019–2020 and as Hellblazer again in 2024.
Keanu Reeves played him in the 2005 film Constantine, and a Reeves sequel has been in the works for years. The AV Club says that sequel's future is still up in the air.
A writer being hired is a first step, not a green light, and there's no release date. We'll keep an eye on Swamp Thing #37 sales as this develops.
