FNM Prep Edition Β· Friday, March 13, 2026

Happy FNM Friday. TMNT week one is in the rearview and the dust is settling. Here's everything you need to walk into tonight prepped β€” what's winning, what's cheap, and what might jump on you next week.

πŸ“Š Meta Snapshot β€” What's Winning Right Now

Standard

Deck Win Rate Tier
Izzet Spell Elementals 64% S
Mono Green Landfall (Midrange) 64% S
Four-Color Reanimator ~60% A
Boros Mobilize 57% A
Dimir Midrange ~55% A
Mono White Aggro ~53% B

The story: TMNT didn't flip Standard upside down β€” it nudged it. Izzet Spellementals is the stat leader at 64% over 33k games on Arena. Mono Green is right there with it. Expect aggro players tonight to run Mono White or Boros. If you're on a midrange shell, your sweepers are underperforming right now β€” sweepers have been struggling to keep up with the threat density.

Pioneer

  • Izzet Prowess β€” #1 at 21.5% meta share. The lessons engine is still the spine of the format.
  • Mono Red Aggro β€” 15.6%, up slightly. A threat at FNM, especially game 1.
  • Orzhov Monument β€” Down 8% to 10.9%. The deck got a little found out. Good matchup for aggro right now.

Modern

  • Boros Energy β€” Dominant. 4 Challenge wins this week. If you're playing Modern tonight, respect the Energy mirrors.
  • Affinity β€” Back in the conversation. Dom Harvey took down a Challenge. Crang Mastermind from TMNT is already slotting in as a real upgrade.
  • Dimir Midrange β€” Down from last week's strong run but still a serious threat in longer games.

πŸ’Έ Budget Picks β€” High Demand, Still Cheap

Cards doing real work in the meta that haven't fully priced in yet.

1. Super Shredder (TMNT) ~$3–4
Up $2.63 this week. Gets a +1/+1 counter whenever any permanent leaves the battlefield β€” not just creatures. Absolute engine in sacrifice and aristocrat builds. Still underpriced relative to the work it does.
2. Monument to Endurance (Tarkir: Dragonstorm) ~$1–2
Three relevant modes that all trigger off discarding β€” which the Rakdos Monument deck does every turn anyway. Seeing a push in Standard right now. The kind of card that's $5 in six weeks.
3. Crater Hoof Behemoth (reprint) ~$8–12
Up $14 this week. Green creature decks are super popular and this is the ultimate finisher. Grull Breakout is playing it in Standard, and Commander demand keeps the floor high. Not a budget card but undervalued for what it does.
4. Mikey & Leo, Chaos and Order (TMNT) ~$2–3
Slotting into Mono Green Landfall builds as a card draw piece. Counter synergy decks are popping right now and this gives you consistent draw at a low mana cost. Cheap enough to spec a playset.
5. The Ooze (TMNT) ~$5–7
Up 215% this week. The only graveyard hate that converts exiled cards into +1/+1 counters. Plays both offense and defense. Still in the "people are figuring it out" phase β€” this floor probably holds or climbs.

πŸ‘€ Watch List β€” Price Movement Coming Next Week

⚑ Necrodominance +47% this week
Currently ~$4. The Cool But Rude (TMNT) combo is getting players excited about a potential Modern Mono Black breakout. If that deck starts topping challenges next week, Necrodominance goes to $8–10 fast. Buy before the spike confirms.
🐒 Doubling Season (TMNT reprint) +249% (EUR)
The TMNT reprint of Doubling Season is already up 249% in Europe. US market is catching up. Commander players want this card badly β€” the borderless TMNT treatment is genuinely gorgeous. Don't wait on this one if you need copies.
πŸ”₯ Tifa Lockhart +$19.65 this week
Landfall decks are leaning on her hard, and Final Fantasy crossover cards carry a collector premium that makes the floor sticky. She's moving up β€” the question is whether the Mono Green meta share holds next week. If it does, she climbs more. Keep an eye on this one through the weekend.
