Friday Night Prep: November 6, 2026

๐Ÿƒ The Long Street Report

FNM Prep Edition ยท Friday, November 6, 2026

Star Trek prereleases start Friday, and the set comes out November 13. So this Friday is the last FNM before new cards hit Standard. Here's what you'll be facing.

๐Ÿ“Š Meta Snapshot

These are the top decks on MTGGoldfish's Standard metagame page, using its default 30-day "All Decks" view, which combines MTGO and paper results (checked Nov 5):

  1. Mono-Green Landfall: 12.5%
  2. Dimir Midrange: 10.9%
  3. Dimir Reanimator: 8.8%
  4. Lifegain: 8.1%
  5. Izzet Spellementals: 7.7%
  6. Azorius Control: 6.3%

Green is the deck to expect. Over the last two weeks, MTGTop8 has Mono Green Aggro at 14% of 481 decks, tied with Dimir Aggro.

The story: Jund Sacrifice won Magic Spotlight: Fracture in Beijing, which ran Oct 31โ€“Nov 1. MTGTop8 lists 865 players, and Jund Sacrifice took three of the eight top-8 seats. Alexandre MacIsaac finished second with Izzet/UR Fling. Jund is rising. It sits low on MTGGoldfish's 30-day view, but MTGTop8's last two weeks have Jund Aggro at 11%, third place. mtgdecks.net has it at 7.94% and climbing, and Alexander von Stange won the Hartford Spotlight with Jund Sacrifice the week before. Expect to see it Friday.

At smaller events, 4 Color Control won a 12-player Store Championship at Hidden Vault Games in Rogers, AR on Nov 2, and Izzet Spellementals placed second.

๐Ÿฐ For the Commander Crowd

Not everyone plays Standard on Friday. If your Friday night is a four-player pod, this part's for you.

Star Trek brings four Commander decks with the November 13 release: Federation Fleet, Landing Party, Klingon Fury and We Are the Borg. Heads up: Wizards says the North American Commander decks are delayed and may arrive after release day. Each one is a ready-to-play 100-card deck, and Wizards posted the full decklists on Oct 29. Picard, Spock, Worf and the Borg Queen are among the faces leading them.

On EDHREC this past week, the most-built commanders were Jace, Multiverse Architect, then Y'shtola, Night's Blessed, then Giada, Font of Hope.

Ban list: nothing has changed for tabletop Commander since February 9, when Biorhythm came off the list and Lutri was unbanned (still banned as a companion). Wizards' Oct 12 update only touched Competitive Brawl. Commander runs on its own schedule, and no date for its next update has been announced. Wizards' next ban announcement for the other formats is November 30.

๐Ÿ’ธ What Moved

Star Trek reprints all ten shocklands, and eight of those printings make the top ten weekly losers on MTGGoldfish's paper movers. Steam Vents is down 81% to about $7.33, Sacred Foundry is down 80% to about $7.80 on MTGGoldfish, and Godless Shrine is down 82% to about $6.78. Those are preorder prices for a set that releases next week.

The Edge of Eternities Watery Grave went the other way. It's up 11% to about $11.46. Blazemire Verge is up 17% to about $14.55. All prices are paper prices as of Nov 5.
